They both carry sterling silver jewellery, which is my particular taste but they also offer a great selection of costume jewellery as well as some apparel and home wears.
Shop Dixi
I shop this brand mostly because I love silver rings (I wear 7 daily, including a midi ring that I purchased recently from Dixi). They have an amazing collection and I found them via their Instagram @shopdixi. Being a fashion graduate, I am easily enticed by good photography, so their collection of amazing shoots of beautifully stacked rings and layered necklaces immediately caught my eye. I've wanted a midi ring for some time but I wasn't prepared to face the green tinge that comes with plated, non-precious metals. So I was in the market for a sterling silver piece to add to my collection and I found the perfect simple wishbone piece at Dixi. Unfortunately it was out of stock but their handy watch feature meant they emailed me as soon as it was back in stock and whilst I lay ill in bed from my aforementioned chest infection, I decided to finally treat myself for a cool £14. Their customer service is genuine and quick and their site is easy to navigate as well as offering payment through PayPal. My ring was shipped almost immediately and arrive within 5 days as promised. As with photography, I am easily enticed by graphic design and packaging, so Dixi came through in this way as well. Packaging is a large part of why I consistently buy Apple products as well. The ring itself is 14mm in diameter and fits my right ring finger perfectly and is, as promised, genuine sterling silver. I couldn't compliment the service and manufacture enough. |
Empty Casket
I love long pendant necklaces in a leather thong or silver chain style. Necklaces and bracelets are the only things in my collection that aren't made of precious metals, excluding a few delicate pieces bought for me by my family.
As a keen hippy and self-proclaimed new-ager, I have an interest in crystal healing and Wiccan symbolism, so Empty Casket caught my intererst more and more as I scrolled through their instagram, @emptycasket.
Needless to say, I want all they have to offer and they, like Dixi, stock a range of styles in a multiple of metals. The necklace I bough wasn't precious so didn't cost me very much at £6. They have deals on regularly so I saved on shipping considerably and it came within 5 working days, again, much like Dixi.
Their website was easy to navigate and a beautifully illustrated image header which they sent with the package. Their prices are reasonable for the market and for the materials and they offer payment through PayPal which is almost a must for me these days when shopping on my phone. The packaging also included a business card and a beautiful moon and stars covered bag which melted my designer heart and my Crescent Moon necklace is my go to for my daily drapery.
After buying from both of these companies, I tried my hand at buying crystals for my individual spiritual needs and wrapping them myself and here is the result.
