So, wow. It has been a couple of months now since my last post and I've definitely had a lot of things to show you all, I'm just a lazy bones at heart! I find it's a lot easier to post onto my Instagram and on YouTube (which sounds bonkers I know). So this is why I haven't been posting a lot but I thought that I would at least post today about my new face and foundation duo.
I have recently just run out of my Revlon ColourStay in 150 Buff and was quite keen to try the other Revlon Foundation that quite a few of you had been raving about. I haven't used a pump dispenser with foundation before and I will admit that I have never used a primer in my life so this was a little bit of unchartered territory for me.
SO, on the primer front, I can definitely recommend GOSH cream primer because it glides on easily and smoothes out my skin to apply my foundation and makes blending simple. All you do is pump out a little into your hands and apply like you would a moisturiser and voila! I found that I needed more than I thought and that I had to let it dry a little before applying my foundation but all in all it definitely improved the look of my fine lines and pores by at least 95%.
Price wise, it is definitely a little more expensive for a drugstore make-up product but I am happy to pay that little extra as the cheaper products such as the MUA primers or Collection2000 are never that good and often are more a hassle than a help. That being said, I can understand that those of us who are not working full time or have other commitments, this can be a little bit of a push at £13.99 UK. All in all though I have found that this hasn't upset my sensitive skin and has helped provide a good base for liquid foundation application.
It's a medium coverage make-up and it's not cakey and has a powdery finish. It's long wearing and I love it already! I still love my HG foundation, ColourStay but I can honestly say that I might be a convert! The consistency is pretty much the same as the ColourStay but because of the pump, it comes out as a little bulb of product rather than as a liquid pool so I will have to adapt my application style but other than that I can't see much of a difference apart from the formula which is supposed to be medium coverage and more like having been airbrushed in Photoshop.
All in all though I am loving this foundation and its so easy to apply and is long-wearing so you don't have to re-apply or worry about it, especially if you work full time like me. On a side note, I've heard that this is a good foundation for those of us that are NC15 or those who use the MAC Studio Fix in NC15.
